The 2021 Honda Pilot comes powered by a 3.5L V6 engine under the hood that’s mated to a 9-Speed Automatic Transmission with Shift-By-Wire and Paddle Shifters. The engine is able to boast 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque.
One factor that helps the engine remain as efficient as possible is the Variable Cylinder Management™ (VCM®) system. This system reduces the use of all cylinders by half during routine performance and low-speed driving, which helps the engine cut down on its fuel use unless full power and performance is needed.
The new Honda Pilot offers a spacious cabin that includes three rows of seating. While passengers in all rows have ample space, it’s the cargo area that should pique your interests. When all the seats are in place, the Pilot offers 16.5 cubic feet. However, folding down the third row nets you 46.8 cubic feet. Best of all, folding down the last two rows gives you 83.9 cubic feet.
The cabin also includes several amenities to help you get the most out of your adventures on the road. The Pilot comes standard with a 5-inch LCD screen that you use to select your media options. You can also opt to upgrade to the 8-inch screen, which adds features like Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™, and even HondaLink®—all of which connect your vehicle to your phone.
The Honda Pilot comes standard with Honda Sensing®, which is a selection of driver-assisting technology features. These features use exterior sensors to measure speed and proximity while detecting the lines in the road. If they sense an impending collision or road departure, they’ll activate a warning and the appropriate system to provide assistance and mitigation.
