Welcome to our Norm Reeves Honda Superstore Vista comparison between the 2020 Honda CR-V Hybrid and the 2020 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. We’ve created this comparison for the drivers around Carlsbad, Vista, and Escondido, California. With that in mind, don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions!

CR-V Hybrid vs RAV4 Hybrid: State-of-the-Art Safety Systems

2020 Honda CR-V Hybrid Safety

In addition to their remarkable fuel economy ratings and lengthy battery warranties, the hybrid versions of the 2020 CR-V and the 2020 RAV4 also both come with state-of-the-art safety suites. First, there’s the Honda Sensing® suite, which is standard on every single version or trim level of the Honda CR-V Hybrid:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow
  • Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™)
  • Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM)
  • Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)

Then there’s Toyota Safety Sense™ 2.0, which fortunately offers a bunch of comparable features like a pre-collision system, a dynamic radar cruise control feature, and even its own lane departure alert.

Unfortunately, the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid does not come with any sort of Road Departure Mitigation System.

2020 Honda CR-V Hybrid Interior Cabin

CR-V Hybrid vs RAV4 Hybrid: Cabin Features and Amenities

Luckily for you, the 2020 CR-V Hybrid’s cabin prepares you for comfortable and convenient commutes throughout Vista, Escondido, and Carlsbad, CA. On the other hand, the 2020 RAV4 Hybrid? Not so much.

For starters, heated front seats are available in the CR-V Hybrid and the RAV4 Hybrid. Next, the CR-V Hybrid provides you, your family and your friends with a spacious passenger volume of up to 102.9 cubic feet, whereas the RAV4 Hybrid’s passenger volume tops out at 98.9 cubic feet. For those in the back seats, they’ll have more room in the CR-V to stretch their legs on long trips–40.4 inches, to be exact. Those in the back seats of the RAV4 have to try to make do with only 37.8 inches.

CR-V Hybrid vs RAV4 Hybrid: Convenience Technologies

To close things out, we’d like to mention two convenience technologies that are both included standard with the 2020 Honda CR-V Hybrid: Remote Engine Start and Walk Away Auto LockÒ.

Remote Engine Start. Let’s say that you’re on vacation somewhere where the mornings are a bit…um…colder than they are in sunny Cali. You can take advantage of Remote Engine Start (which is standard on any CR-V Hybrid trim level) to warm the cabin up while you’re still sipping your coffee inside. This feature is only optional on the RAV4 Hybrid, so you might have to walk out in your robe to turn it on.

Walk Away Auto LockÒ. Speaking of walking out, regardless of which CR-V Hybrid model you’re driving, you can walk away from the SUV and it’ll lock itself automatically. In other words, that’s one less thing that you have to worry about. But you can’t count yourself so lucky with the RAV4 Hybrid–not available.
